Am 12. April haben sich im Gemeindezentrum der Epiphaniaskirche in Bickendorf Leiter*innen und pädagogische Fachkräfte aus unseren Kitas und die dazugehörigen Pfarrer*innen einen ganzen Tag getroffen, um sich mit eigenen und den kindlichen Gottesbildern zu beschäftigen. Frau Dr. Isabel Schneider-Wölfinger (Kindertheologin und Dozentin am Ev. Fröbelseminar Kassel, Lehrbeauftragte an der Evangelischen Hochschule Darmstadt) begleitete als Referentin diese Gruppe von 30 Personen durch einen abwechslungsreichen Tag.

Welche Bilder verbinden wir eigentlich mit Gott? Haben wir die gleichen Vorstellungen? Wie entstehen eigentlich unsere Gottesbilder?

Diesen Fragen ging die Gruppe anhand einiger Forschungsergebnisse nach. So die von Friedrich Schweitzer und James W. Fowler, die die religiöse Entwicklung von Kindern in 3 Stufen einteilen:

Intuitiv-projektiver Glaube in der mittleren Kindheit (3-7 Jahre):
Unterscheidung zwischen Gottesbild und Elternbild

Gott ist ein von den Eltern getrenntes Gegenüber. Die Gottesvorstellungen sind antropomorph-mythologiosch (von menschlicher Gestalt, Figuren aus der Mythologie).

Beim Kind herrschen intuitives Verstehen und Empfinden anstelle logischen Denkens vor. Sie haben eine große Vorstellungs- und Einbildungskraft. Sie ermöglichen es dem Kind, Bilder und Gefühle in großem Umfang zu erfahren bzw. zu sammeln, die später geordnet, überprüft und eventuell verändert bzw. aussortiert werden. Das Gottesbild kann in dieser Phase beschützend und freundlich, aber auch bedrohlich und strafend sein.

Mythisch-wörtlicher Glaube in der späten Kindheit (7-12 Jahre):
Vergeistigung des Gottesbildes

Die Gottesvorstellungen werden mit abstrakten Symbolen verknüpft (Gott als Geist, als Nebel…). Diese Symbole, Mythen und Geschichten sind für sie von zentraler Bedeutung für die eigene Orientierung in der Welt. Sie werden wörtlich genommen und noch nicht als Symbole erfasst.

Auch Anna-Katharina Szagun hat dazu geforscht und in ihren Langzeitbeobachtungen (8 Jahre) eher eine Mischung der Stufen entdeckt und keine klare Abfolge. So entwickeln sich die Vorstellungen von einem Gott unterschiedlich, werden vielleicht sehr lange mit konkreten Personenvorstellungen verknüpft – der Pfarrer in der Kita wird von Kindern schon mal als Gott bezeichnet.

Mit Hilfe des Gotteskoffers, gefüllt mit Symbolen, die Gott verdeutlichen könnten, wurden Ideen für die weitere religionspädagogische Arbeit in den Kitas entwickelt.

Der Gotteskoffer bietet die Möglichkeit, seine eigene Gottesvorstellung auszudrücken und die eigene Idee mit anderen Ideen zu vergleichen oder neue Gedanken zu entdecken. Die Symbole wurden nach Bibelzitaten ausgewählt, die Gott beschreiben.

Es wurde sehr deutlich: Unser Gott hat viele Bilder! Sie ist eine Mutter oder ein Vater, eine unterstützende Hand, die Sonne, eine Burg, ein König, verborgen, groß und unbegreiflich…

Gerade die Zusammenarbeit der Theolog*innen und Pädagog*innen in diesem Austausch und in der Planung der weiteren Arbeit in den Kitas war sehr gewinnbringend.

So entstanden Ideen für die nächsten Gottesdienste, für einen kommenden Team-Konzeptionstag oder für die weitere kritische Auseinandersetzung in den Teams über mögliche Gottesbilder als Mutter, Vater oder Krieger um daraus Impulse für die religionspädagogische Arbeit zu entwickeln.

Wir wünschen allen Kindern, Eltern und Mitarbeitenden bereichernde Erlebnisse mit eigenen und anderen Gottesbildern…
